Mole Hills have they stayed away?

I was a little scared about writing this post in case I jinx what has been a rather good year for the lawn in terms of no mole hills.

This time last year I wrote a post about trying some bulbs I had found that were meant to stop moles, as we had a a lawn that looked like this.

Molehill Trouble

We are now a year on and look at the lawn, yes it is full of moss and weeds and very little grass there are no mole hills.

I can not really believe it, I have not missed counting how many new molehills had appeared overnight and having to try and rescue the grass from underneath.

Not sure how long they are going to continue working and I did plant in a lot but so far so good. The packet said they should last 2-5 years I am thinking possibly 2.

I will keep a close watch and when the warm weather starts to be more predictable rather than the threat of the beast from the east mark 3 making an appearance, the lawn will be given some TLC by the gardeners who help us with the larger jobs. As lawns are not my strong point and we do not have the right tools. Though it is a job we do want to start doing ourselves in the future.

Planting LolliPop Trees Elaeagnus ebbingei

I can not believe the day had finally arrived, the trees we had put so much thought into were going to be planted. We had the conifer and last shrubs removed and the whole area dug over and ready for the arrival of the LolliPop Trees Elaeagnus ebbingei. Pleached Trees - Higher Privacy Solution

As you are aware we have had the new fence put in and are trying to find some ways to gain some privacy back, the new garden fence . Today I took the boys on a trip to one of my favourite places to look at trees and plants. English Woodlands located at Cross in Hand, East Sussex. We brought our laurel plants from them about 4 years ago, they were extremely good plants healthy, strong and have since flourished. I decided to write this post as a Mummy of a little boy who is on the Autism Spectrum and has very limited speech and understanding, I wanted to give a glimpse into our world. He had been for a school trip to a small local airport and this is the story of collection and journey home....
