Meal Plan Monday 2nd February 2015

Some very easy meals yes I am talking straight from the freezer to the oven and some new ones to try out.

Monday - Sausages, Potatoes, red onions all roasted with a lovely honey and Wholegrain mustard dressing served with spinach. The boys will be having hidden veg tomato sauce with pasta

Tuesday - Thai Chickpea and Mushroom Curry from Women's Weekly The Complete Book of Slow Cooking One Pot and Soups. The boys will be having Chicken Nuggets, Mash and Broccoli

Wednesday - Caribbean Style Chicken from Women's Weekly The Complete Book of Slow Cooking One Pot and Soups. I will be doing this with quorn. The boys will be having Carbonara with peas

Thursday - Jackets with Tuna Mayo for Mr MCW and they boys and I will be having Beans and Cheese

Friday - We are trying out Birdseye Piri-Piri chicken I will serve this with rice and large salad. The boys will have Fish Fingers, Chips and Peas

Saturday - I forgot last week Mr MCW was going out so we are going to have our homemade burgers, topped with blue cheese. The boys will have a Spag Bol.

Sunday - Roast Duck Breast with all the trimmings

  1. We make a dish called "Caribbean Chicken" too. I wonder if it is like yours. Ours has banana and pineapple in it, as well as chicken in a mild curry sauce. Sound familiar? It sounds as if you don't eat fish (Thursday). Me neither. Can't eat fish or seafood.

    1. Oh ours is with lots of different spices and herbs. Banana ans pineapple my other half would love that

 The weather is really starting to turn and we are starting to want some more comfort food. Meal Plan Friday 11th March 2022

 Spring seems to be slowly springing into action. The garden much to my delight is coming back to life with the bulbs planted in the autumn about to come into flower. Friday - Sweet and Sour Chicken Saturday - Gammon, Egg and Chips Sunday - Toad in the Hole Monday - Fish, New Potatoes and veggies. Fishcakes for the boys. Tuesday - Chicken Curry Wednesday - Quorn Slices with mash and veggies Thursday - Fajita Pie. Wraps for the boys.

Mint is trying to take over the garden

I  am trying to tidy the garden up. We are a bit tight for money this month and I want to plant lots of bulbs. Instead I am tidying and keeping busy, let's be honest the garden is a weed haven and a total mess so I have a lot to do. Clearing this border however I have made a very important discovery. That mint is trying to take over the world, one border at a time. Two years ago I planted out a very sad and mainly dead supermarket mint plant. I did not think it was going to survive or the consequences of my naive action. It did survive and it did grow and grow. I then cleared the border down that year and the next it came back stronger. This year it was at its finest. Now admittedly I did just let it grow. The children loved the smell as did I. They were picking it, making mud pies with it, it was a source of fun.
