Meal Plan Friday 9th February 2018

It is half term, pancake day and valentines day all happening this week. The meal plan is full of quick and simple food, we all need a break over half term not just the children.

Friday - Warm Bacon and Blue Cheese Salad for Mr MC&W and I. The

boys will have pizza


Warm new potato salad with bacon and blue cheese

Saturday - Charlie Bigham Moussaka with salad and bread, found the moussaka on sale in Waitrose when I popped in for milk. Will be keeping an eye out for those again. The boys will have waffles, ham and egg - our version of ham egg and chips as the eldest has decided he does not like chips.

Sunday - Chicken and feta tray bake, I use chicken breasts and a Mediterranean frozen mix vegetables, makes it cheaper and quicker. The boys will have cheesy pasta with broccoli

Roast chicken with peppers and feta

Monday - Ravioli and tortellini with garlic bread, roasted tomatoes and salad

Tuesday - Thai meal for Mr MC&W and sweet and savoury pancakes for the boys

Wednesday - Steak and Chips for Valentines day the boys will have fish and chips (waffles)

Thursday - Caesar style salad the boys will have sausages, beans, peas and mini roast potatoes

  3. This all sounds yummy! I haven't had moussaka in so many years! I'll definitely be making pancakes tomorrow too - although we are currently painting our apartment so not sure how that'll work out lol! Thanks for sharing!

Pleached Trees - Higher Privacy Solution

As you are aware we have had the new fence put in and are trying to find some ways to gain some privacy back, the new garden fence . Meal Plan Saturday 18th June 2016

The weeks are just flying by at the moment. Last weeks meal plan went ok, the cheesy broccoli, ham and pasta bake was great even though I changed the meal massively from that on BBC Good Food. I adored the Pea Pakoras the boys not so much,  we will give them another go. The toad in the hole was for Mr and Mrs MC&W tasty and for once I cooked it well, boys loved the Yorkshire puddings but sausages are still not going down to well. This week is very busy so we are having a few quick and easy or throw it in the oven and leave to cook meals. We also have baby ZAP beginning to wean so putting his first few tastes on the meal plan as well. Busy times ahead. I am using as I did with both the boys Annabel Karmels ideas to start with and then doing a combination of baby lead weaning. This dual way worked well with both OEP and ATM. Feeding a Bee with sugar water

Have you ever been in the garden and seen a sad looking bee on the ground not really moving? You watch it for a while realising the poor little chap is really struggling. I have found several bees like this and tried to feed them sugar water. But my attempts to rescue them mainly ended with me trying to drown them, I was really not aiding them during their time of need. But I have finally developed a method that works so I thought I would share. Mix together white sugar with a little water so that it completely dissolves, RSPB suggests 2 tablespoons of sugar with one tablespoon of water. I used desert spoons but the same ratio. The advice is never to use honey or brown sugar.  This is what worked for me, move the bee to a paving stone, I used a strong leaf they tend to walk onto it, if not you can easily slide it under them, then drip a small amount of the sugar water in front of the bee.
