I was thrilled when Anja from Mud and Bloom said she liked my blog and would love for us to try one of her boxes out. Mud and Bloom is a monthly subscription box sent through the post which contains a gardening activity and nature craft ideas. My blog in the main is about gardening and with three young boys this seemed a perfect product for us to try out.
Though I love the garden I can not say the boys share the love, the eldest is into scooting around the garden, the youngest is only 2.5 years old so likes picking flowers and the middle boy shows interest but only for a few moments.
This beautiful box arrived and I was surprised at how many ideas were in it. We had seeds to plant and plenty of craft ideas for us to try out.
We all have enjoyed elements of the box which is amazing, having a box that had something that all of the three boys enjoyed was perfect.
ATM tried out the seedbombs with me and loved planting the seeds in the little pots of compost provided, what I found great about these is they can be grown on a window sill and transferred to a larger pot so even if you have little or no outdoor space you can still get involved. They have grown and have now been transferred to bigger pots.
The craft ideas were perfect for a hot sunny afternoon, we loved finding leaves and using them as paint brushes, this is something we will do over and over again. It got the boys looking at the leaves and thinking about the shape and how they were made up. The littlest loved this, in fact, the picture below is his painted with oregano and rosemary and cosmos leaves.
The jar deteriorating was loved by both the older boys and interesting how they had such different ideas.
The boxes are £7.95 a month and postage is free, it kept us really entertained and it is not just lots of plastic throw away toys, it has got the boys in the garden and not just on the trampoline. Also, you can gift them, what a brilliant and unusual gift idea for kids or grandchildren.

Right, I am off to find more leaves to paint with and yes that is me not the kids.
I was kindly gifted this craft box by Mud and Bloom for us to plant and try out. As always the thoughts and opinions are always my own.
