Meal Plan Friday 14th June 2019

Well what a week, it has felt more like late autumn than June and the rain has just kept coming. Sports day has been postponed and I just keep telling myself we need the rain.

Friday - Cesar Salad for Mr MC&W and I. The boys will have fish goujons, mash and peas

Saturday - Steak and Chips for Mr MC&W and I, we have a family birthday get together on Sunday so decided Saturday would be Fathers day. The boys are having Taco Saturday.

Sunday - BBQ but we are not cooking

Monday - it has been a bit of an indulgent weekend so Neapolitan Salad from Gions Healthy Italian and the boys will have pasta with cheese and ham and veggies

Tuesday - Cod with Bacon, Lettuce and Peas. The boys will have a simple fish pie

Wednesday - Meatballs with spaghetti

Thursday - its hospital day for our eldest with this three monthly type 1 check up and catch up with the team, so a ready meal for the evening as I never feel like cooking after.

  1. Yum. Happy Fathers day celebrations and all that. The meals sound really good. How do you manage to do something different for the adults and the kids so often?
    I know how it is sometimes though. I hope the checkup goes well and all the best for a fabulous week ahead

    1. This week was a particulary bad one for different meals. the kids eat as 4.30 or they snack and end up missing their dinner.

    1. I try and plan one fish dish a week. We have similar one with chicken and thought this one sounded nice xx

Meal Plan Friday 11th March 2022

 Spring seems to be slowly springing into action. The garden much to my delight is coming back to life with the bulbs planted in the autumn about to come into flower. Friday - Sweet and Sour Chicken Saturday - Gammon, Egg and Chips Sunday - Toad in the Hole Monday - Fish, New Potatoes and veggies. Fishcakes for the boys. Tuesday - Chicken Curry Wednesday - Quorn Slices with mash and veggies Thursday - Fajita Pie. Wraps for the boys.

Mint is trying to take over the garden

I  am trying to tidy the garden up. We are a bit tight for money this month and I want to plant lots of bulbs. Instead I am tidying and keeping busy, let's be honest the garden is a weed haven and a total mess so I have a lot to do. Clearing this border however I have made a very important discovery. That mint is trying to take over the world, one border at a time. Two years ago I planted out a very sad and mainly dead supermarket mint plant. I did not think it was going to survive or the consequences of my naive action. It did survive and it did grow and grow. I then cleared the border down that year and the next it came back stronger. This year it was at its finest. Now admittedly I did just let it grow. The children loved the smell as did I. They were picking it, making mud pies with it, it was a source of fun.
