Meal Plan Friday 12th July 2019

We are edging closer to the summer holidays. We only have 4 days left as a few inset days being taken.

 The children are exhausted and not in good moods so its going to be a challenging one for us all.

 We did not have the pulled chicken as we had a dominoes instead. The stuffed mushroom and the halloumi burger last week were lovely but the potato and cheese tart was not good.

 Meal plan Friday 5th July 2019
Friday - Family favourite Fish and Chips and Peas

 Saturday - BBQ

 Sunday-  The boys are being treated to a McDonald's and we are having a tesco finest dine in for £10

 Monday - Beetroot and Smoked mackerel salad the boys have decided they adore mackerel so they will have a salad minus the beetroot. I have made up my own ideas for this and must write it up.

 Tuesday- Chinese style chicken,I have changed this a little to cook on the hob and use microwave rice which makes this a simple one pot meal

 Sticky chinese chicken traybake

 Wednesday - Pasta, Mozzarella, mint with fresh tomatoes

 Pasta with mozzarella mint and fresh tomato sauce

 Thursday - Pizza for the boys and take out for us and its Thai as we break up today

    Good luck! I hope you all get through the last week of school. Hang on in there!
    I love the sound of the Beetroot and Smoked mackerel salad. No one else in my family apart from me like mackerel. Hmmf.

    I hope the wait will soon be over for schools to break up. I remember those days! They seemed to drag on and on!
    Your meal ideas are lovely as always and I especially love the sound of the smoked mackerel. Send some my way, please.

I can not believe the day had finally arrived, the trees we had put so much thought into were going to be planted. We had the conifer and last shrubs removed and the whole area dug over and ready for the arrival of the LolliPop Trees Elaeagnus ebbingei. Bulb Rescue

Plants amaze me all the time, this morning I was tidying up and found a upturned pot. Under the pot I found bulbs that had fallen out but had started to grow leaves. They had no soil and still, these plucky little bulbs were wanting to grow. No soil and abandoned  Growing with no soil So I have attempted a rescue mission using things I could quickly find. I found a little old terracotta pot and some stones. Old Pot Few stones I had no compost (shocking I know) but I did have a huge molehill, so I grabbed some soil from that and filled the pot just over half full. Pleached Trees - Higher Privacy Solution

As you are aware we have had the new fence put in and are trying to find some ways to gain some privacy back, the new garden fence . Today I took the boys on a trip to one of my favourite places to look at trees and plants. English Woodlands located at Cross in Hand, East Sussex. We brought our laurel plants from them about 4 years ago, they were extremely good plants healthy, strong and have since flourished. As a nursery, they helped us choose what we needed and even told us to buy smaller ones as they would grow so fast, saving us money. I have been looking online and wondered if pleached trees maybe an answer to our height issue. What they should do is bring height to the fence but still allow light in. Now these are by no means a cheap and as always I am not sure if Mr MC&W is going to like them.
