Friday 6th March 2020

We had our food delivery on Sunday I was not sure if we would get everything but we did including the loo roll we actually needed. But we did so that was fantastic. I am hoping this panic buying all will settle down soon.

Friday - Fish, Chips and peas a la freezer

Saturday - Pizza for the boys. Pinch of Nom curry for us.

Sunday - Homemade Lasagne

Monday - Chicken Mozarella tarts for us and tuna tarts for the boys with salad.

Chicken, mozzarella, pesto filoparcels

Tuesday - Tortellini Bake. I am making this one up a little I could not get passata so chose condensed tomato soup with some cream added and lots of veggies I will report back.

Wednesday - Classic Sweedish Meatballs

Thursday - Thai Prawn and Pineapple rice for Mr MC&W and myself. Paella for the boys.

  1. I got out food shopping delivered on Saturday and was shocked when everything arrived. Pasta and loo rolls which we did need.
    Great meal plan. I love the sound of the Chicken Mozarella tarts and the Thai Prawn and Pineapple rice x

  3. Yes! Our shopping is arriving today and toilet rolls are NOT on the missing items list. (in fact I'm only missing shower gel, but we have plenty anyway.) The Thai Prawn and pineapple rice sounds so yummy. I bet me and my eldest would love that. (p.s. deleted my previous comment as it linked to my now defunct Blogger account. and you wouldn't have know who I was.)

  4. I just don't get panic buying, we just popped to Aldi after Footy Sunday for a few bits and was fine by us. Nice meal plan

  6. Ahh phew! I've got a shop to collect tomorrow and I'm really hoping that we can get everything! I'm also wondering what sort of substitutions I'm going to get tbh!

Meal Plan Friday 11th March 2022

 Spring seems to be slowly springing into action. The garden much to my delight is coming back to life with the bulbs planted in the autumn about to come into flower. Friday - Sweet and Sour Chicken Saturday - Gammon, Egg and Chips Sunday - Toad in the Hole Monday - Fish, New Potatoes and veggies. Fishcakes for the boys. Tuesday - Chicken Curry Wednesday - Quorn Slices with mash and veggies Thursday - Fajita Pie. Wraps for the boys.

Mint is trying to take over the garden

I  am trying to tidy the garden up. We are a bit tight for money this month and I want to plant lots of bulbs. Instead I am tidying and keeping busy, let's be honest the garden is a weed haven and a total mess so I have a lot to do. Clearing this border however I have made a very important discovery. That mint is trying to take over the world, one border at a time. Two years ago I planted out a very sad and mainly dead supermarket mint plant. I did not think it was going to survive or the consequences of my naive action. It did survive and it did grow and grow. I then cleared the border down that year and the next it came back stronger. This year it was at its finest. Now admittedly I did just let it grow. The children loved the smell as did I. They were picking it, making mud pies with it, it was a source of fun. Then the flowers came out and the bees and pollinators were in heaven the whole border was alive, I had to keep it. I have now dug it u...
